Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Our mission is to extend a helping hand to our neighbors. Community Outreach Services (COS) was organized as a 501c3 organization in April, 1991. COS began as a small, one-day-a-week food pantry with the vision of people from local churches in the Kennebunks reaching out to neighbors in need of food.
Over the years, in an effort to meet the many growing needs of the community, COS expanded their assistance programs to include the following services for neighbors in their time of need:
- Food Programs – in addition to the food pantry, which is open four days a week, COS provides the following: Monday food delivery, and holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Fuel Program – providing neighbors heating fuel on a needed basis through their local Town GA.
- Essential Needs Program – providing financial assistance to those with urgent special requests such as eyeglasses, health care needs, rent, gasoline, auto repairs, utility bills, etc.
Your generous donations help fund these and other programs COS continues to roll out that fit into the mission and objectives of our organization - serving our local communities.
